Audio Mixer
What the audio mixer is for
A vocal over its backing track
Add the vocal and the instrumental, then pull the instrumental down a few decibels until the words sit on top. If the vocal was recorded a beat late, move its start time instead of re-recording.
Stems back into one song
After the stem splitter or vocal remover, rebalance the parts: drums up, bass down, backing vocals muted or panned to one side. Each track keeps its own level from -24 to +6 dB in half-decibel steps.
A voice-over with music under it
Put narration on one track and a music bed on another, start the music a second or two early, and set it 12 to 18 dB below the voice so speech stays clear on phone speakers.
A loop under a whole song
Switch on Repeat to the end for a drum or percussion loop and it plays again from its start until the last other track ends. A fade-out on the loop happens once, at the end of the mix, not on every pass.
Mix audio tracks in three steps
Add the tracks
Add up to sixteen files, open songs from My music, or load the example stems of a real song. Each track may be up to 90 MB and 15 minutes, and all of them together up to 30 minutes of audio.
Set levels, pan and timing
Move each level and pan slider, type when each track starts and how long it fades in and out, and switch on Repeat for a loop. Solo a track to hear it alone, or mute one to hear the mix without it. The timeline shows where every track plays.
Preview and export
Preview renders the mix you will download. Save it as MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A or AAC, in stereo or mono; the last three are written where the browser has the encoder, and MP3 runs from 128 to 320 kbps.
What the mixer does
Audio mixer tracks and limits
Each with its own level, pan, start time, fades, repeat, solo and mute.
The most the tracks may add up to, because every track is held in memory while you mix.
A mix that would clip is turned down to just under full scale, and the page says by how much.
Decoding, mixing and encoding run in your browser, with no account and no credits.
