Extend a Song
Continue a generated or uploaded song from the exact second you choose, steer the new part with lyrics and style, and join the parts into a full-length track.
Extend continues a song from a point you pick. Use it to add a verse, build a longer ending, or grow a short idea into a full track.
Choose where the new part starts
- Open the song's Remix menu and choose Extend, or pick the song as the source in the AI Music Generator with Extend selected.
- The waveform shows an Extend from marker. It starts at three quarters of the way through the song; drag it, or type a time to the hundredth of a second.
- The marker can sit anywhere from the start of the song up to one second before its end. A song too short to leave that room cannot be extended.
Everything after the marker is replaced by the new music, so place it at the end of the last bar you want to keep — usually just before a chorus or after the final line of a verse.
Steer the new part
In custom mode, write lyrics for the new part only; the song before the marker already has its words. Keep the style close to the original so the join is seamless, or change it on purpose for a breakdown or an outro. The audioWeight slider sets how closely the continuation follows the source recording.
No separate join step
An extension comes back already joined: each new version in My Music is the whole song, the original up to the marker followed by the new part. To build a longer track, extend again from the newest version with the marker near its end. Each pass is a separate generation and draws credits like one; the cost is on the button before you start.
When an extension does not fit
- The key or tempo drifts. Put the tempo (in BPM) and key in the style field; naming a number is more reliable than naming a genre.
- The vocal changes character. Use a persona made from the original song so the same singer carries on.
- The join has a bump. Move the marker to a quieter moment, such as the end of a phrase, and generate again.
