# Lyrics Writing Guide

Write lyrics the generator sings well: section labels in brackets, line lengths that fit the tempo, a chorus that repeats, and how to draft or polish words with the AI Lyrics Generator.

In custom mode the generator sings your words exactly as written, so the shape of the lyrics decides the shape of the song.

## Label every section

Put each section's name in square brackets on its own line. The labels tell the generator where the verse ends and the chorus begins:

```
[Verse 1]
Streetlights hum on the empty road
Engine warm and the radio low
[Chorus]
We drive till the morning comes
Chasing every rising sun
[Bridge]
...
[Outro]
```

Common labels are `[Intro]`, `[Verse 1]`, `[Pre-Chorus]`, `[Chorus]`, `[Verse 2]`, `[Bridge]`, `[Final Chorus]` and `[Outro]`. A song without labels still works, but the generator has to guess where the hook is.

## Fit the lines to the tempo

- Keep lines to roughly 6–10 syllables at mid tempo, fewer for a slow ballad, more for fast rap.
- Match line lengths within a section; a verse with one very long line forces the vocal to rush it.
- Repeat the chorus word for word. Repetition is what makes a hook, and it gives the vocal a melody to return to.

## Words that sing

Open vowels ("go", "high", "away") hold a long note better than closed ones. Put the words you want heard on the strong beats and at line ends, and avoid stacking consonants at the end of a held note. Read each line out loud at the song's tempo; if you stumble, the singer will too.

## Draft with the AI Lyrics Generator

The [AI Lyrics Generator](https://aimusicis.com/ai-lyrics-generator) writes a full set of labelled lyrics from a topic, a mood and a structure. Use it to get past a blank page, then edit: replace generic images with specific ones, and make the chorus line the one sentence you want people to remember. Bring the result into custom mode, or save it as a draft to come back to.

## Changing words after the song exists

To rewrite one part of a finished song without regenerating it all, use [Replace a Section](https://aimusicis.com/docs/songs/replace-a-section). Keep the new lines close to the syllable count of the old ones so they fit the same melody.
