# Audio Editing, MIDI and Exports

Which browser tool to use for trimming, converting, mixing and full editing, how the MIDI tools fit together, and what each one exports — most of them free and without uploading anything.

Most editing in Aimusicis happens in your browser: the file is opened on your device, processed there and saved as a download. These tools use no credits and work without an account, except where noted.

## Quick jobs

| Job | Tool | Exports |
| ------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------- | ----------------------------- |
| Change a file's format, quality or channels | [Audio Converter](https://aimusicis.com/audio-converter) | MP3 (128–320 kbps), WAV, FLAC |
| Keep part of a recording, or cut part out | [Audio Cutter](https://aimusicis.com/audio-cutter) | MP3, WAV, FLAC |
| Layer tracks at their own levels and starts | [Audio Mixer](https://aimusicis.com/audio-mixer) | MP3, WAV, FLAC |

The converter takes up to 10 files at a time; the mixer up to 8 tracks. Each accepts files up to 90 MB and 15 minutes.

## Full editing

The [Online Audio Editor](https://aimusicis.com/online-audio-editor) is a waveform editor for anything the quick tools do not cover: several edits in one file, effects (gain, fades, normalize, compressor, EQ, reverb, delay, distortion, limiter, speed, reverse, remove silence), microphone recording, and a multitrack view.

- Open files up to 100 MB holding up to 12 minutes of stereo or 25 minutes of mono audio, or record takes of up to 10 minutes.
- Signed in, you can open a song from My Music; this needs download access, which is included with a paid plan.
- **Save draft** keeps your session in this browser for your account. Drafts are not cloud backups — export to keep a copy.
- Export from the **File** menu as MP3, WAV or FLAC.

## MIDI

| You have | You want | Tool |
| ------------- | ------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| A text idea | A MIDI composition | [AI MIDI Generator](https://aimusicis.com/ai-midi-generator) |
| A MIDI file | To edit notes in a piano roll | [MIDI Editor](https://aimusicis.com/midi-editor) |
| An audio file | Its melody as MIDI | [Audio to MIDI](https://aimusicis.com/audio-to-midi) |
| A video | Its melody as MIDI | [MP4 to MIDI](https://aimusicis.com/mp4-to-midi) |
| A MIDI file | Audio you can play anywhere | [MIDI to MP3](https://aimusicis.com/midi-to-mp3) (renders a WAV) |
| A MIDI file | A score to print or save as PDF | [MIDI to Sheet Music](https://aimusicis.com/midi-to-sheet-music) |
| An audio file | Its notes as a printable score | [Audio to Sheet Music](https://aimusicis.com/audio-to-sheet-music) |

The AI MIDI Generator is a generation and draws credits; the other MIDI tools run in the browser for free. Audio to MIDI follows one melodic line, so it suits a sung or played melody better than a full mix — separate the part first with the [Stem Splitter](https://aimusicis.com/ai-stem-splitter) if needed. The MIDI editor and MIDI to MP3 accept files up to 5 MB, and MIDI to MP3 renders up to 3 minutes of playing time. Both sheet-music pages write a piano score (MusicXML, or print and PDF from the browser); drum tracks are left out of it.

## Exporting songs you generated

Generated songs are downloaded from My Music as MP3 or lossless WAV (a paid-plan feature); see [Find, Share and Download Songs](https://aimusicis.com/docs/songs/find-share-and-download). To process one in the browser tools, download it first, or open it in the online audio editor from My Music.
