## Music to split into stems

Four-part separation is easiest to judge on a dense mix, so these lean towards arrangements with drums, bass and vocals all present.

### Roots Foundation

Roots reggae at 74 BPM, one-drop drums, organ bubble and a melodica lead line.

### French Touch Filter

A filter-disco loop with a phaser sweep - the classic remix treatment.

### Ballad for the Last Call

Long held notes, where a weak model loses pitch first.

## The AI stem splitter separates a finished mix into editable parts

### Choose 4, 6 or 12 stems

Four-stem mode separates vocals, drums, bass and other instruments. Six-stem mode adds dedicated guitar and piano files. All-detected mode returns every stem the model finds in a song generated here, up to 12. Start with a stereo upload or a song from your library.

### When two files would do

For a karaoke bed or a quick acapella, the vocal remover is faster and gives you less to manage.

## Split a song into stems in three steps

### Upload the finished mix

One stereo file is all the splitter needs; there is no requirement to supply session or multitrack material.

### Choose a separation mode

Use 4-Stem Split for vocals, drums, bass and other instruments, or 6-Stem Split when you also need guitar and piano tracks. All Detected Stems, only for songs generated here, returns every stem the model finds, up to 12.

### Rebuild the track from its parts

Import the stems into a DAW to remix, re-balance, resample or mute a layer that was never meant to come out.

## Choose the parts you want from one mix

### 4, 6 or 12 stems

Vocals, drums, bass and other; six-stem mode adds guitar and piano; all-detected mode returns every stem found in a song generated here, up to 12.

### 1 stereo file

A stereo file is all the input needed; no session or multitrack required.

### 6 upload formats

MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC and AAC.

### 3 separation modes

Select 4-Stem Split, 6-Stem Split or, for songs generated here, All Detected Stems before running.

## AI Stem Splitter features

### 4, 6 or 12 separate files

Choose a separation mode before generating. Four stems keep the remaining instruments together; six stems add guitar and piano outputs. For a song generated here, All Detected Stems returns every stem the model finds, up to 12. Use the vocal remover when you only need vocals and backing audio.

### One stereo file is the whole input

No session, no multitrack and no stems from the original producer: a finished mix in MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC or AAC is enough.

### Know what stays in the other stem

Four-stem mode groups guitars, keyboards and other accompaniment together. Six-stem mode separates guitar and piano, while remaining sounds stay in other. All-detected mode returns one file per stem the model finds. Separation can leave artifacts or bleed between tracks, especially with overlapping instruments.

## What people do with separated stems

### Remix producers

Start from the actual drums and vocal instead of approximating them with samples.

### Live bands and tribute acts

Mute the instrument your player covers and run the rest as backing on stage.

### Sound designers

Pull one usable layer - a bassline, a drum break - out of a track that only exists as a mix.

## AI Stem Splitter FAQ

Answers for creators comparing AI Stem Splitter, AI music generators, editing tools, and royalty-aware publishing workflows.

### What is AI Stem Splitter?

AI Stem Splitter separates a stereo mix into downloadable instrument and vocal tracks. Choose four stems, or six stems with additional guitar and piano files, then preview or download each output from Results. For a song generated here, All Detected Stems returns every stem the model finds, up to 12.

### How many stems do I get?

Four-stem mode returns vocals, drums, bass and other. Six-stem mode returns those parts plus guitar and piano. All Detected Stems returns every stem the model finds in a song generated here, from two up to 12. Each output is a separate MP3 file.

### Do I need the original session or multitrack?

No. One stereo mix is the only input - that is the whole point of separation as opposed to being sent stems.

### Why does the 'other' stem contain several instruments?

In four-stem mode, guitar, keyboard and other accompaniment share one file. Six-stem mode adds guitar and piano outputs, but instruments such as strings or synthesizers can still remain together in other. All-detected mode returns a separate file for each stem the model finds.

### Why do the stems sound slightly odd alone?

Separation is a reconstruction, not an unmixing. Small artefacts appear when a part is heard alone that are inaudible once the stems are played together again.

### Does it work on a live recording?

Less cleanly. Room bleed puts every instrument into every part of the recording, which is exactly the condition separation finds hardest.

### Can I split a stem again?

You can, but each pass compounds the artefacts of the last. If you need finer parts, it is usually better to start from the original mix again.

### Can I use the AI Stem Splitter for commercial projects?

Aimusicis does not currently issue a commercial-use license or certificate. Download access is separate from usage rights; review the current Terms and confirm you hold the rights to every uploaded or referenced source before publishing.

### What should I do after using the AI Stem Splitter?

AI Mastering, AI Song Cover Generator and AI Music Generator are the usual next steps. Results stay in My Music, so what you make here can be picked up in any of them without re-uploading it.

### How clean are the separated stems?

Four stems from a stereo mix is separation, not the original session. Heard alone a stem can sound thin or smeared where two instruments shared the same frequencies; layered back together it holds up, which is what most work needs.

### How many credits does AI Stem Splitter use?

AI Stem Splitter draws 5 credits per run. New accounts start with 10 free credits, and every plan and pack is priced in the same credits.

## Separate the parts you need

Choose 4, 6 or 12 stems, then preview and download the individual tracks.
